Removals Worker / Porter
Removals workers move household and office furniture and other belongings between locations, working as a team in customers’ homes, businesses and on the road.
Day-to-day tasks
In this role you could:
- Check instructions with customers and list items to move
- Move furniture, carpets and appliances
- Dismantle large furniture or equipment
- Pack, load and secure belongings safely
- Handle fragile and sentimental items carefully
- Drive to the destination and unload
- Complete inventories for items going overseas
Skills & knowledge
You'll need:
- Customer service skills
- Knowledge of transport methods, costs and benefits

- The ability to accept criticism and work under pressure
