Job Purpose:
- Teach Manx in schools following the Manx Language Unit’s curriculum.
- Support and develop Manx language learning in schools and the wider community.
- Create a positive learning environment and promote interest in the Manx language.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, teach, and assess Manx language lessons.
- Develop and improve teaching materials.
- Foster positive attitudes towards Manx language and culture.
- Liaise with teachers, students, and school staff.
- Maintain professional development in language teaching.
- Travel between schools as needed (own transport required).
- Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Honours degree (or equivalent).
- Fluent in Manx.
- Qualified Teacher Status (or willingness to train).
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to engage students of different ages and learning styles.
- Experience teaching in primary or secondary schools.
- Knowledge of language teaching methods.
- Good ICT skills for teaching and administration.
- Valid driving licence and own car.

Desirable Skills:
- Experience teaching Manx or other languages.
- Knowledge of Manx culture and history.
- Ability to develop new teaching resources.
- Experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) students.
- Familiarity with both formative and summative assessment.

- Strong team player with good interpersonal skills.
- High expectations for student achievement and behaviour.

Qualified - £41,075 - £52,489 or Unqualified (Trainee) - £24,065-£36,717
