Job Purpose: Provide person-centered care to residents in a friendly, respectful, and homely environment. Support their well-being, dignity, and independence while ensuring high standards of care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with personal care, meal times, and daily activities.
- Plan and lead recreational activities to enhance residents’ quality of life.
- Write and update care plans, ensuring residents' needs are met.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold residents' rights.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure a safe environment.
- Administer medication (training provided).
- Escort residents to appointments and community activities.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and support colleagues.
- Follow all health, safety, and data protection policies.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care (or willingness to obtain within 3 years).
- Experience working with vulnerable people, preferably in dementia care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of confidentiality, data protection, and health & safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
- Physically capable of performing care duties.
- Ability to travel between care locations.
- Enhanced DBS check clearance.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in organizing and leading recreational activities.
- Additional dementia care training or qualifications.
- Knowledge of electronic record-keeping systems.
- Isle of Man worker status.
