Experienced Kitchen Porter

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Porter with a strong focus on efficient and thorough dishwashing to join our friendly and busy team. This is a crucial role in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment, ensuring the smooth running of all kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities
Washing Up Excellence:
● Rapidly and effectively wash and sanitize all plates, cutlery, glasses, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
● Operate dishwashers efficiently and ensure proper chemical usage.
● Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the washing up process.
● Ensure all crockery and cutlery is clean, sanitized, and ready for service.

Maintaining Kitchen Hygiene:
● Assist with general kitchen cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.
● Assist with the removal of food waste and recycling.
● Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.

Supporting Kitchen Operations:
● Maintain adequate stock levels of kitchen supplies (e.g., detergents, cleaning products).
● Assist with the collection and delivery of goods as needed.

Health and Safety:
● Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
● Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Café Manager.
● Wear appropriate safety gear (e.g., gloves, apron).

Essential Skills & Experience:
● Proven experience as a Kitchen Porter with a strong emphasis on dishwashing in a fast-paced environment (e.g., café, restaurant).
● Excellent dishwashing techniques and a high level of speed and accuracy.
● Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
● Strong attention to detail and a high level of cleanliness.
● Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
● Ability to work efficiently and under pressure.
● Good communication skills.
● Physical fitness and the ability to stand for long periods.

Desirable Skills:
● Experience working with specific kitchen equipment (e.g., dishwashers, commercial ovens).
