Job Description:
Support teaching staff by assisting in planning and delivering engaging learning experiences, both inside and outside the classroom. Help pupils with their personal, social, and educational development, including those with additional needs. Foster positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents. Support children in transitions, outdoor learning, and during school trips. Provide constructive feedback and assist with assessments to help track progress.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- GCSEs in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and relevant policies
Experience & Skills:
- Ability to support pupils’ academic and personal development
- Understanding of child development and learning processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to plan actions for underachieving pupils and assist with assessments
- Ability to establish productive working relationships and act as a role model
Personal Attributes:
- Warm, approachable, enthusiastic, and calm demeanor.
- Commitment to professional development and reflection on personal practice.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Teaching Assistant NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
- First Aid Training
- Supporting pupils with SEN programs like Numicon or Speech & Language Link
- Experience managing challenging behaviors using strategies like Team Teach
- Familiarity with outdoor learning and group-based objectives (e.g., phonics)
- Experience organizing and supporting school trips
- Isle of Man Worker status
3 positions - 1 part-time mornings; 2 full school days
