Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled, passionate and experienced Cook / Grill Chef to join our
busy dynamic kitchen team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of
cooking techniques and a natural ability and proven track record to cook freshly prepared
hot food in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role requires the successful
candidate to have a strong work ethic and must be able to work weekends, have excellent
communication, as well as the ability to work independently and within a team
environment, efficiently and accurately under pressure. Fundamentally the role requires a
commitment to delivering an exceptional quality of food service. This job description

Key Responsibilities
Cooking Excellence:
● Prepare and cook a variety of freshly cooked dishes to the highest standards,
including breakfast, burgers, chips, chicken, seasonal specials and other popular
menu dishes.
● Ensure consistent quality, flavour, and presentation of all dishes.
● Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of all cooking equipment, facilities
and utensils.
Kitchen Operations:
● Assist in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
● Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
● Contribute to menu development and special promotions as needed.
Teamwork:
● Work effectively as part of a close-knit kitchen team.
● Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel.
● Assist with training and mentoring junior kitchen staff.
Customer Service:
● Ensure all food orders are prepared, presented and delivered accurately and promptly.
● Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards customers and colleagues.
Qualifications, Requirements & Experience
● Proven experience as a Cook / Grill Chef in a busy restaurant or café environment.
● Must be able to work weekends
● Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and cooking equipment.
● Excellent knife skills and food handling techniques.
● Experience working with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
● Ability to work quickly under pressure in a busy café environment.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality café style dishes.
● Food Safety and Hygiene Certification (preferred, training can be provided).
