Job Purpose: To assist in the safe and smooth operation of the National Sports Centre, ensuring high-quality customer service and facility supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and assist users across all activity areas (wet, dry, and outdoor sports).
- Ensure customer safety, respond to emergencies, and enforce centre rules.
- Support the organisation of events and activities.
- Perform cleaning duties to maintain hygiene and presentation standards.
- Conduct water testing and report maintenance issues.
- Uphold health and safety standards and centre policies.
- Undertake training and maintain required qualifications.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to interact effectively with the public, including young people and those with additional needs.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and punctual.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to meet required physical standards for the role.
- Satisfactory Enhanced Police Check (DBS).
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Sports-related coaching or gym instructor qualification (Level 2).
- Experience in a sports or leisure facility.
- Awareness of the Isle of Man Strategy for Sport.
- Basic administrative skills.
