The Division and the role:
Culture Division in the Department of Education, Sport and Culture encompasses the Isle of
Man Arts Council, the Arts Development Team, Kensington Arts and Villa Gaiety.
We are looking for an Arts Engagement Officer to develop and deliver communications for the
Arts Development Team, the Isle of Man Arts Council and Kensington Arts.
The successful applicant will be skilled, versatile, self-motivated and inclusive, supporting the planning of communications to connect with all audiences and to raise the profile of arts and creativity within the community.
This unique role is a full time position (five days and 37.5 hours per week) with occasional
evening and weekend work when required to support the work of the team.
The role will be based at the Villa Marina Arcade Office, Culture Division, Douglas.
What will you do?


As the Arts Engagement Officer, you will
 Deliver innovative communications for the Arts Development Team, Isle of Man Arts
Council and Kensington Arts including website maintenance, press releases and public
communications, 

 Seek and develop fresh, creative and engaging content for use across different and
appropriate digital and offline channels, including the Isle of Man Arts Council biweekly newsletter;
 Ensure that website and social media content is always relevant and up to date
(including contact with Isle of Man Arts Council funding recipients), and suitable for
sharing to match its target audience;
 Collect relevant data, audience insights and use web analytics to provide engagement
reports as required detailing updates on current communications and audience reach;
 Develop recommendations and marketing plans to expand the reach of the IOM Arts
Council, Arts Development Team and Kensington Arts to engage new audiences;
 Ensure all marketing plans and schedules are regularly updated;
 Effectively communicate accurate and timely information regarding IOM Arts Council
funding, projects and events to the public via internal and external channels;
 Manage relationships with external suppliers with regard to content production and
development;
 Understand and develop brand awareness for the IOM Arts Council and Kensington
Arts;
 Have strong copywriting and content creation skills, and be willing to develop further
whilst undertaking necessary training as identified and when required by the
Department;
 Manage and update data and compliancy with GDPR relating to external
communications and social media;
 Support the members of the Arts Development Team and Isle of Man Arts Council at
events and venues as required;
 Any other duties as requested as commensurate with the role and level of
remuneration.

sills you require are:

5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above
(including English language)
or equivalent qualification

Demonstrable experience in
marketing and/or design, or in a
discipline relevant to the role

Experience of the arts within a
community environment

Excellent attention to detail
